The Sterling Savings Bank Shootout features a points format for the 2009 season. Complementing the Toyota Series of Golf objective of getting amateur golfers to golf more often the new format will closely parallel the PGA's Fed Ex Cup.

Points are earned at each Toyota Series of Golf event to all finishers. Two points are awarded according to participants and net (gross in championship flight) finish order. For example finish last and earn two points or finish 1st in a 40 person field and earn 80 points. Best Ball tournaments and some other tournaments earn 1 point per placement versus two points.

Each Toyota Series of Golf event flight winner along with the top 100 point totals will be invited to the season ending Sterling Savings Bank Shootout at The Fairways on Sunday, September 20, 2009 for a one day 18 hole tournament!
